Loved the homely style, felt like I was in Grandma's house. The tour desk helped me explore the surrounding villages' historical attractions. Free Wi-Fi meant I could continue scrolling social media while pretending to enjoy the beautiful Lake Titicaca.
It was truly delightful to freeze in the bitterly cold room, just like the staff in their jackets and hats. So thoughtful of them!

The Kaaro Hotel El Buho has a great location, facing the church in Puno. The room I stayed in was clean and had an ensuite shower room. Plus, it was a relief to have hot water available, even though it took a while for it to warm up.
There were a couple of minor issues during my stay. the room smelled a bit moldy/musty, which was slightly off-putting.

Kaaro Hotel El Buho exceeded our expectations. The spacious family room provided ample space for all of us to relax comfortably after a busy day exploring Puno's vibrant streets. The friendly staff went above and beyond to make sure our children felt welcome, even providing little treats and coloring books. The hotel's central location allowed us to easily access nearby attractions and restaurants, making our family adventures stress-free.
My kids wished for a play area or game room to keep them entertained during downtimes.

A gem of comfort, service & class. Embellished wood details, decorative rugs, and a full buffet breakfast with fruits and juices. Oh, and the best part? The fire extinguisher, because who doesn't love safety features in a hotel?
Just wish they had a petting zoo. 🙄

Great value for money hotel! The warm water never ran out, beds were really comfy, and breakfast was very good! Loved the location, just a block away from a busy street, yet quiet at night. The hotel provided excellent Wi-Fi connectivity, which was a must-have during our weekend getaway. The staff was very helpful, accommodating, and always on hand to help us with our needs and questions.
The windows didn't offer much privacy as they're somewhat see-through. the room temperature was freezing, and it can get uncomfortable for those who aren't used to it.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
